At Western Counselling, our whole treatment process is obviously focused on caring for you as an individual. Therefore you are indeed given one to one counselling and support from dedicated staff for the duration of your stay and beyond.
So if you think that you might have a drug addiction, alcohol or gambling problem or maybe eating disorder. Additionally you may be concerned about a family member or friend.
Treatment is specifically designed to meet your needs and is provided in a safe, secure and mutually supportive environment. Hence this gives you the best possible chance of successful long term recovery.
We can all think and choose, plus we can do virtually anything we want to if we set our minds to it. Also we all have the “freedom to choose” and Western Counselling are here to help with that choice.
About
We are situated in the seaside town of Weston super Mare, established in 1984 exclusively to treat addictive disorders. Following the traditional 12 Step methodology it is evidently renowned for its structured, abstinence based programmes of care.
What we do
The programme of care is challenging and boundaried with specific emphasis placed on personal integrity. Also honesty from which to build the foundations especially for long term recovery from addiction.
Clients are treated from all over the world. Therefore our referrals are required to undertake as assessment prior to admission. Which especially explores social history, addiction, medical, psychiatric and forensic history.
The assessment takes approximately thirty to forty minutes. Also this can be undertaken by telephone or in person if a visit is arranged. Firstly an admission care plan is then compiled and used as the basis for initial consultation. Plus it’s updated within the first four weeks of treatment by the individual’s counsellor and subsequently reviewed four weekly, throughout treatment.
All referrals subsequently undertake a medical assessment on admission, with our doctors who prescribe as necessary. Medicated withdrawals are occasionally available, specifically for those clients using substances prior to their admission.
