The 12 Step philosophy of Freezone Spiritual Retreat is based on the guiding principles outlining a course of action for recovery from addictive compulsive or other behavioural problems.
Freezone Spiritual Retreat aims to help people in recovery and working a 12 Step programme to draw strength from an atmosphere of prayer and meditation.
Also we believe there is a need for a therapeutic environment to experience serenity and our aim is to achieve this in a natural, relaxing setting.
Freezone is run as a community co-operative (C.I.C) as we believe this best reflects the spiritual ideals behind the project.
SERVICES
Through a natural and peaceful location, Freezone aims to provide an atmosphere of recovery, prayer and meditation. Although peak times will be during the summer, Freezone will be open all year round.
Freezone is offering weekend or week-long breaks to anyone interested in the 12 Step philosophy. This includes:
•Peer support – The therapeutic value of one person identifying with another
•Meditation – Two guided meditation groups per day
•Holistic Therapies – Holistic approaches such as: aromatherapy; acupuncture; yoga and massage
•Counselling – One-to-one sessions with a counsellor will be available daily
Freezone will specifically invite spiritual leaders from various denominations. This is to present their spiritual experiences on various topics. Plus this will endorse our open-mindedness towards all faiths.
There will be time set aside for personal reflection and prayer. Discussion sessions on the spiritual principles embodied in the 12 Steps and related topic groups will be held.
Meals will be prepared by a skilled vegetarian chef. Also there will be 3 set meals per day at set times, morning breakfast, lunch and dinner in the evening. Beverages will also be continuously available throughout the day and night by self-service.
Furthermore meditation and counselling sessions will be guided by certified professionals resident with Freezone

Situated on the Isle of Purbeck, Ower Farm overlooks Poole Harbour. It is surrounded by abundant forest walks and beaches right on our doorstep. Remstone estate is especially renowned as an area outstanding natural beauty and is recognised as a world heritage site.
Brian Grant
Brian’s strong and inspiring vision to build a community of support and recovery. Obviously this comes especially from his own experience as a person in recovery. He is particularly committed to providing a service that will enhance people’s wellbeing and spiritual growth. Brian’s enthusiasm is infectious, along with his very warm and open heart. Thus Brian does significantly believe in Freezone as an aid to recovery.
Carmen Cupido
Carmen’s capacity for risk-taking has opened up many doors for her. Plus her creative background and ability to think outside the box has pushed Freezone in new and dynamic ways. Her leaning towards ethical, sustainable and environmentally sound business practices is at the core of her business ethos. Having acquired a BA Business Degree focusing on non-profit organisations she is well equipped to further the aims of Freezone.
Additional Associates
Christina McLaughlin studied classical ballet, dance, and drama at Elmhurst Ballet School and the Royal Ballet School. Plus Christina spent 15 years running her own dance school. After the birth of her two daughters she trained to be a yoga teacher. Firstly with the British Wheel of Yoga and then Dru Yoga Therapy, with the Life Foundation School of Therapeutics.
Also she studied at Sacred Space Institute of Psychotherapy and has an Higher National Diploma in psycho-spiritual counselling. For seven years she ran group workshops in yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and dance. Plus stress management, confidence building and assertion, for the world renowned Priory Hospital. Christina is a Reiki Master and is currently teaching yoga and Spirit dance in prisons and psychiatric hospitals.
Also she has a deep love of shamanism and energy medicine and for many years has been studying with a leading shamanic teacher. She believes in the aims of Freezone to enhance people’s lives.
