Peer Recovery Worker
Dear Albert is seeking to appoint full time or part time Peer Recovery Workers as we develop our range of services.
We are a dynamic, professional lived experience recovery organisation dedicated to resolving substance use issues. We are here to secure long term abstinence based recovery and ensure that when people take those first tentative steps towards asking for help, the right kind of support and understanding is waiting for them.
Working as a Dear Albert Peer Recovery Worker, you will know the road to long term recovery from drug or alcohol issues and the challenges faced because you have lived experience yourself, providing visible proof that with the right approach, sustained long term recovery is possible.
You will work within a supportive and diverse team dedicated to sharing the message that we do recover. Working with people both individually and in groups, your role will be to promote abstinence based options, facilitate engagement with mutual aid, build recovery capital, and assist with navigating treatment options and support connections with the recovery community.
You will be expected to work with clients delivering both harm reduction and abstinence based support via face to face and over the phone.
Experience of criminal justice, homelessness and Mutual Aid is particularly sought, as is a commitment to our focus on continuous professional development and a willingness to contribute to our community of practice.
We are passionate about having a fully representative staffing team and welcome applications from disadvantaged or under represented groups.
If this sounds like the sort of role that will excite and motivate you, we would love to hear from you.
Please contact via email: email@example.com for an application pack or call 0800 8303646 (between the times of 10am-2pm)
Closing date for return of completed applications: 5pm Friday 2nd April 2021
