Treatment offered at PROMIS does not only address substance abuse and alcohol dependency but also other psychological issues such as anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression) and eating disorders among others.

Whether you need to seek addiction treatment for yourself or a loved one, you will find that all our clinics offer a peaceful setting that is family oriented. With locations across Europe, open 24/7, you can always turn to PROMIS for immediate assistance.

PROMIS offers a combined range of treatments, from medical attention and psychological care to guidance and inspiration, customising each of our tested and effective methods into a personalised treatment plan that will work best for each individual patient.

We provide residential primary treatment, secondary care, detox, counselling, interventions and aftercare as well as a dedicated family programme.

Residential Treatment

These programmes take place in any of the PROMIS clinics

Residential Treatment is offered to give a chance to get away from the distractions and triggers commonly found in every day life and allow the individual to recuperate and focus on getting physically and mentally better. Specific treatments based on proven and effective methods are offered for patients in need of individual care, with associated problems relating to alcohol abuse, drug dependency, eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, overeating), depression, anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, gambling, OCD and other addictive or compulsive behaviours.

Our residential clinics offer several accommodation choices (including luxury en-suite options), free wifi internet access, TVs in each bedroom and we are even pet friendly!

Each day is carefully planned with a busy schedule of therapies, activities and exercises. During a typical 9 to 5 day, there are a variety of psychotherapeutic sessions and meetings focused on providing unique psychological solutions to our many problems. Every individual is encouraged and supported to work on addressing the difficult and painful issues which led to the destructive and negative patterns in their lives.

In the evenings, following a delicious, freshly produced, home-cooked supper by our talented chefs, we offer all residents a chance to unwind and relax whilst enjoying therapeutic massages, Acupuncture, Shiatsu or customised beauty treatments from trained specialists. It’s just as important to learn how to be able to relax and to feel a little pampered, as it is to do the soul searching of the rest of the day.

Later in the evening, residents will either retire to their rooms for some privacy, arrange a movie/sports night together or enjoy socialising in good company in one of the many relaxing areas around the clinic.

Treatment Modalities

Here at PROMIS, we integrate a wide range of cutting edge, evidence-based and effective treatment modalities complemented by additional activities which promote a greater total well-being. Our time tested philosophy is based on providing a fully comprehensive treatment programme to our patients which not only addresses their current issues and symptoms but inspires and builds a strong foundation for long lasting behavioural change.

Treatment programmes are tailored to each individual and comprises of (but not limited to) the following:

One-to-One Therapy

A range of therapists can be consulted to address a range of different issues. Although it is common for a patient to work with one main therapist, it is also possible to draw in other specialist help from a number of professionals working either for, or in association with PROMIS. These sessions can be arranged at times to fit in with the busy lives our patients lead.

Group Therapy

Patients share experiences with each other during group sessions which are led by highly trained PROMIS therapists. This particular therapy develops an understanding of the common thoughts, feelings and actions that lead to addictive and compulsive behaviour. You are not alone. Everyone is interdependent and it can be quite comforting to realize how other people mirror the exact way you are feeling.

In psychodrama, PROMIS provides an innovative approach to treatment, in a reassuring and understanding setting. Patients either re-enact traumatic or confrontational episodes in their past or prepare themselves for future challenges, either real or imagined. Psychodrama provides an added stimulus to the recovery process.

Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR)

PROMIS offers this specialised treatment for expressing and releasing suppressed, deep-seated emotions. These are often found in addictive and compulsive behaviours and also in depression. The treatment is provided in a reassuring manner by our experienced clinical staff.

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP)

PROMIS offers this therapy programme to promote positive emotional wellbeing, confidence and greater communication skills. This carefully structured treatment uses interaction with horses to provide different challenges for people to overcome. Through various exercises the patients discover a fresh ability to solve problems with action and develop new communication skills. It also enhances trust. ‘Horses are such intelligent animals offering an incredibly valuable learning tool to discover who one truly is’ says our Equine Specialist.

Creative Therapy

Promis encourages patients to express themselves through various arts such as music, collage, painting and sculpture. Individuals can express their emotions via these mediums, providing an essential stimulus to help recovery. Our music therapist facilitates people’s stories by putting them into song and verse.

Detoxification doesn’t have to be unpleasant. At PROMIS we make the detox as relaxed, comfortable, efficient and effective as possible. A full medical assessment determines what level of medication is required, provided alongside proper nutrition ,rest and particular supportive therapies.

Everybody’s experience with drink or drugs has been different and so it is important to be sure that the detox process is individualised. If a patient has found one detox drug better than another in the past, then we will adapt our detox to suit them. Having confidence that our patients will be listened to and having flexibility is really important for a comfortable detox.

Our interventions services can help you help a loved one realise they have an addiction problem. The process of conducting an intervention can be difficult, particularly with regards to strategy and timing, so a professional addictions therapist with many years of experience will guide you through this journey.

We will always provide you with the support and help you need, when you need it most 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
