Substance Misuse Liaison Nurse
Salary: £26,056.49 - £30,910.55+ £586.31 OLF per annum
Location: Watford General Hospital
The post-holder will provide a hospital based service within an Integrated Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service to people with substance misuse needs. They will be integral member of a multi-disciplinary team based at Watford General Hospital working alongside a Substance Misuse Brief Interventions Worker. The post holder will be primarily ward based and will provide rapid access to assessment, clinical intervention, liaison, discharge planning and onward referral for service users attending hospital with substance misuse related issues.
The post-holder will contribute to the service to ensure that those who experience difficulties through the use of Drugs and Alcohol consistently receive high quality services that adhere to best practice guidelines and achieve high professional standards.
The post-holder will work closely with A&E, RAID, ward staff and CGL Spectrum recovery workers and clinical staff to provide advice, information, clinical intervention, support and treatment for service users. The post-holders will be required to work flexibly within an agreed number of hours to maintain the most appropriate level of service provision. This can include evening and weekend working. The post holder will be responsible for contributing to the overall performance of the service to ensure that contractual output targets are achieved.
The post holder will have excellent communication and engagement skills, some knowledge and/or experience of working with substance misusers in order to deliver high quality services in accordance with national guidelines.
