| Carter Gordon Clinics are quickly becoming the South African treatment group of choice for many people around the world. The Plett Rehab Centre is committed to providing patients with an individualised 'Sustainable Recovery Strategy' TM to help ensure their long-term success. Situated in Plettenberg Bay along the dramatic coastline of the Garden Route, the Plett Rehab Centre offers patients a truly unique experience in which to recover.
The clinic provides fully inclusive primary residential care for a total of 15 patients, specializing in the treatment of drug & alcohol dependency. Detoxification is also provided with full, 24-hour staffing. The Secondary Care centre caters for 12 patients and the Halfway House for 8. Based on the Twelve Step Minnesota Model, the treatment programme incorporates group and individual therapy sessions, lectures, workshops and regular attendance at local Fellowship meetings.
Clients are also engaged clients in community and outdoors activity, day trips and visits to local attractions, and Outward Bound overnight excursions thus learning better inter-personal skills through team work and building their self esteem and trust in themselves and others. Activities include morning walks along the beach, horse riding through a game park, kayaking in the ocean and overnight outward bound excursions, to name but a few.
Getting to South Africa may seem daunting to some, but numerous flights are available, and exceptional discounted rates can often be found on-line. Patients can be collected from either one of the two local airports by a member of staff, or collection from Cape Town or Johannesburg is available at an additional cost.
The typical length of stay for a recovery program at Carter Gordon Clinics is approximately twelve weeks; however, the clinic will consider shorter periods of treatment by negotiation. Fees are inclusive of all food, accommodation, detoxification, in-house therapy and excursions at extremely competitive prices compared to similar programs offered within the UK / US.
