New funding for drug and alcohol treatment in SA
Exciting news that South Australian drug and alcohol treatment providers are being welcomed to bid for grants for funding their addiction services.
Funding will be provided over a 3 year period from a total of $20 million coming from the Federal Government.
This will be provided in the form of grants of up to a maximum of $2.5 million and has been set aside for those needing it most. These include Peterborough and the Mid-North, the Fleurieu region, Ceduna, Playford, Port Augusta, Port Adelaide, Murray Bridge and Onkaparinga. ‘Alcohol and drug misuse affects not just the individuals involved, but the people and communities around them,’ Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt said. ‘Drug and alcohol treatment services are crucial to enable people with substance problems to get their lives back on track.
