From the creator of Sobriety TV.
"Since I was a kid and saw the movie, E.T., I knew I wanted to become a filmmaker. I followed my dream, went to film school, and made it in Hollywood after a feature documentary of mine premiered at Fox Studios in front of 500 celebrities and producers and then was satellite broadcast to more than 57 million people. As I made Hollywood films, I found myself enjoying the development of recovery oriented shows. For nearly a decade, I produced all the most popular films in the National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information and I also produced the National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month television series for seven years. In a nutshell, I've shot thousands of stories with recovering addicts, visited hundreds of treatment centers and met all the big wigs in the recovery field. I must be the only filmmaker in the world who has shot so many films about recovery.
The concept for my site originally started about two years ago when I came up with the idea to make a single DVD of great recovery stories, give it away and let people make copies of their own to spread around. The concept lit on fire and because of my reputation in the field, the recovery community was receptive to my shooting their stories of recovery for a good cause. It was sort of a multi level marketing approach but in the form of a good public service. Then about a year ago, I realized it would be more economical to place my films on a website and anyone in the world could watch great programming at anytime... and so was born, SOBRIETY.TV... an online recovery television station dedicated to providing free, empowering and inspiring films about addiction recovery. Many large sponsors are contacting me including major Hollywood Video Distributors like Hart Sharp Video, which has donated a feature film to my site called, ACTS OF WORSHIP. I'm very excited about the direction I'm moving in to support the recovery community... It's one of the few things in my life that gives me joy; giving back the gift of recovery to those who need it. Currently, I am developing a possible deal with the Discovery Channel to shoot a series about recovery with celebrity actress, Donnamarie Recco. She has worked with Robert Deniro, William Defoe, Greg Kinnear and starred in The Sopranos, NYPD Blue, Star Trek and several other shows... On top of that, she is siked to host my show! So exciting things are in the works. In the meantime, if you know anyone who has a great film about recovery, whether it is a music video, doc, short film, feature, etc... please don't hesitate to send them our way so we can exhibit their film to the recovery
community. Thanks for watching, SOBRIETY.TV!
