We strive to give residents a feeling of living at home in a comfortable, supportive drug-free environment. Currently, the Lighthouse Cottages has five locations, all in the historic downtown section of Delray Beach, a seaside community in southeast Florida. Separate houses are provided for men and women.

About us

The Lighthouse Cottages was established to carry on the tradition of The Lighthouse at Delray Beach, a highly structured 61 bed recovery house founded in 1991 by Cathy and Norbert Poli that fell victim to real estate developers in 2003. We strive to provide similar environment where residents receive as much individual attention as they need while experiencing a strong sense of community.

Richard Joslin, the Executive Director, attended Brown University and has advanced degrees in chemical dependency and counseling psychology from the University of Miami. For many years, he worked as a guidance counselor in South Florida high schools. Prior to opening the Lighthouse Cottages, he was employed by The Lighthouse at Delray Beach and was the owner/operator of One Cup At A Time, a recovery oriented bookstore/art gallery/coffee house in Delray Beach.
