Minds Alive offers an intensive blend of motivational, educational, therapeutic and spiritual services, which incorporates the Laws of Attraction and the Essence of Faith. Inpatient Treatment takes place in a comfortable home-like setting, situated in a peaceful natural setting in the beautiful suburb of Westville in Durban, South Africa. The building is beautifully designed with comfortable living facilities for up to 12 peers and the facility’s small capacity allows an abundance of individual attention. Inside, a team of experienced, skilled professionals provides a nurturing and empowering environment for real change.

Our skilled specialists and counselors, some of whom have overcome substance abuse and depression themselves, act as perfect role models and have an in-depth understanding of all forms of dependency and the challenge to overcome it. They understand that it is the habit and not the person that is bad and have embraced Minds Alive ’s unique programme, which challenges limiting personal beliefs and has helped to bring about real transformation in many peoples lives around the world.

TREATMENT PROCEDURES

1. PRE-ADMISSION ASSESSMENT: Done prior to admission either face to face or telephonically for clients from out of town to determine extent of the problem, reason for treatment and if individual is treatment ready.
2. MEDICAL ASSESSMENT: Before admission by your own GP or our GP – full medical check up/ Stress ECG/LIVER FUNCTION TEST
3. ON ADMISSION: Documents include Personal Details, Waiver of Confidentiality, Inventory, Indemnity Forms, Personal Body search, etc.
4. MEDICAL OBSERVATION and DETOXIFICATION using a herbal plant called IBOGAINE.
5. A series of clinical assessments, psychological testing and evaluations are completed in the first week and a treatment plan is designed for each persons individual needs.
6. A 6 –week inpatient treatment includes using high tech technology to lecture in PowerPoint forms using Visuals, including manuals and daily homework with weekly tests.

IBOGAINE DETOXIFICATION

Ibogaine is a naturally occurring alkaloid, extracted from the root of the Tabernanthe Iboga shrub from Gabon, Cameroon.
It instantly removes withdrawals and useful to detoxify rapidly from opiates (heroin, codeine, pethidine, morphine, opium), cocaine/crack, methadone, alcohol and other addictive substances after a single dose.
